Raz- Kids is an award-winning comprehensive leveled reading resource for students.  There are over 800 leveled-books available where students can access their leveled text through an interactive learning portal designed to keep students both engaged and motivated.  Every ebook is available in both online and mobile format that allows students to listen to, read at their own pace, and record themselves reading.  Students can also take comprehension eQuizzes that measure student comprehension to support their reading.  This site also has support for ELL students with both Spanish ebooks & e-Quiz translations. 

 

As part of the P.S. 42 Reading Program, there is an embedded guided reading component where teachers instruct students on their guided reading level. Teachers can assign leveled books through Raz-Kids as well to support students' instruction.  Both the students Guided Reading Level ( Instructional Level) & Independent Level,are assessed by students reading accuracy, gluencecy, and comprehension skills through Fountas & Pinnell.  Please contact your child’s teacher through either the teacher contact page or your the Class Dojo Teacher page for more information on your child’s instructional and independent level and how you can support them at home as well.
