Jim Henson Trip - 3rd grade
Updated: Dec 8, 2018
Celebrating 3rd graders who accomplished 95% attendance. This year PS 42's goal is to have every student in school doing their best. That means we need students in school every day. This year we celebrate by visiting The Museum of Moving Images, Astoria Queens NY.
In focusing on chronic absenteeism, it’s important to remember that most students in New York City do go to school regularly. About half of New York City’s students are solid attenders. Another quarter are not considered high-risk. And for many students who miss too much school in their elementary years, experience and research has shown that relatively simple interventions can make a big difference. Courtesy of Center NYC.
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." “We learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itself."
Every student will have the chance to expand their opportunity to learn. The world is their environment and we are seeking every opportunity to excel in seeing the world.
